Weekly Wishes

Weekly WishesLast week I took a slight departure from my normal 10 weekly goals. It was a busy week coming on the heels of two weekends spent out of town, and I was feeling incredibly stressed. I decided to take it easy on myself by simply making three overarching wishes to guide my week. They were fun wishes too – pleasure reading, television watching, and writing.

How did I do? Like I always say, better than if I hadn’t focused on these things at all. One of my goals – wishes, in this case – was to finish five articles/essays I had in the works by the end of Sunday. Because of a schedule snafu, that happened today instead. But it happened, and that’s enough for me. | We watched two episodes of Elementary and are now caught up with Season One. That means we can start watching DVRd episodes of Season Two with my daughter when she’s home for Thanksgiving break. | I didn’t finish The Signature of All Things, but I did more reading than I had in weeks. It felt so nice.

Read, read, read. I need to finish The Signature of All Things. It’s overdue at the library, so I need to get it done ASAP. I’m also part of the launch team for Crystal Paine’s newest book, Say Goodbye to Survival Mode and I can’t wait to dig into it. Also, I ordered in a copy of Where’d You Go, Bernadette via interlibrary loan. Can’t wait to start on that one, too.

What’s one thing that you’d love to focus on this week?

  1. Love your picture! The leaves are so pretty. I love reading goals! Good luck with yours :)

  2. I had Signature out from the library, but I had other books I had to read first because of due dates for reviews. The stress of the due date was seriously getting to me. I had to return it. May buy it for myself if enough readers I trust insist on its greatness. The first 40 pages were slow for me.

  3. I would like to write and read this week, as I have deadlines for both.
Mostly I would like to do something to help my career every day. It can be small, but it has to be something.

  4. What fun wishes! I still feel like I’m catching up from being gone two weekends ago, so I know what you mean about feeling stressed. The laundry never ends…!

    • I was just telling my husband that I cannot wait for next week, because – even with the holiday – it’s the first relatively normal week I will have had for a while. Laundry is never caught up around here. It gets very close at time, but never completely finished.

  5. I can’t wait to hear what you think about Where’d You Go Bernadette!

  6. Sometimes taking it easy on yourself is the best thing you can do… And that is exactly my wish for this week! xx
