10 Weekly Goals.

Weekly Goals | Shana Norris BlogI haven’t made weekly goals since February 17. Yikes. Like I said yesterday, February was a stinker. But March? March is gonna be awesome.

We had not one but two birthday parties for my sweet little girl this weekend. Friday night was the “friend party” and we had a houseful – seven girls! Saturday night was the “family party.”

This week my baby girl turns 9, I turn 40, and in two more weeks my oldest turns 20. Those numbers make my head spin.

On the reading front, I’m officially hooked on the Divergent series. I went straight from Divergent to Insurgent with scarcely a breath between.

Juliet and I have been devouring the Who Was … books. We’ve read Who Was Sacagawea? and Who Was Queen Elizabeth I? Next up is Who Was Jane Goodall? Somehow I’ve turned into a lover of history over the years, and the books really hold Juliet’s attention – she’s always begging for one more chapter – so they’re perfect for us to read together. The added bonus is that she’s quickly knocking out her nonfiction book report requirement.

And now I’m bravely dipping my toes back into the beckoning waters of weekly goals:

Marriage/Mothering/Relational Goals

1. Read three chapters of Who Was Jane Goodall? to Juliet, read three picture books to Jake, read three chapters of Best Friends Forever to both kids.
2. Write a love letter to Jim.
3. Finish delivering Girl Scout cookies with Juliet.
4. Do three Tiger Cub electives with Jake.
5. Go out to dinner on my birthday with Jim and the kids.
6. Three calculated acts of kindness.

Personal Goals

7. Finish reading Insurgent and read one chapter of One Year to an Organized Life.
8. 2×6 mile runs, 1×10 mile run, 1 strength training session.

At Home Goals

9. Clean out office/laundry room in preparation for painting.

Writing Goals

10. Free write/journal daily this week.

Have a wonderful week, friends. I hope the sun is shining and the weather is warming wherever you are.

  2. If your baby girl was turning 10, that would be even crazier! When I turned 30, my dad turned 60. That was cool! And Scarlet turned two.
Ok I have to tell you that I read another book that made me cry. It was just one night, rather than the long nightmares of “Me Before You” but it was some intense crying. And I never cry. It was “The Light Between Oceans.”
If you haven’t read it, that was your warning.

    • The Light Between Oceans has been recommended to me numerous times. Yikes – didn’t know it was a sad one! My dad turns 70 in April :) Those even numbers sure make it easy to remember how old everyone is, don’t they?!

  3. I can’t wait to start the Divergent series! I am currently finishing Hunger Games. Wow, lots of birthdays and celebrations this month!!! It’s warm today but tomorrow is supposed to snow. What the heck?
